 Hello, LAVP Members and Friends,

September is almost here, and time for Congress to return to DC to vote on whether to start bringing our troops home. Together, let’s make sure our Congresswoman, Anna Eshoo, hears a powerful message from her constituents. Please join us for a peaceful VIGIL in Los Altos

Singer Plaza at State & Main
Tuesday, August 28, 5:45 - 6:30 PM

Ours is one of hundreds of vigils being organized by Moveon.org. To sign up go to: http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/event.html?event_id=40283
It helps us to know how many are coming and lets us keep in touch should anything change.

We also invite members from Mountain View and Sunnyvale Voices for Peace.

Our last vigil was held on March 19, 2007, the four-year anniversary of the Iraq War. On August 28th we will focus on the human and the financial costs of this war.

--Participants will help place markers for fallen soldiers and Iraqi civilians.

---We will display an oversized check showing the cost of the war for the taxpayers of our 14th Congressional District ($1.8 billion).

--Postcards will be available for you to send to Anna Eshoo.

--Raging Grannies will lead the group in singing a few songs about war and tax dollars that fund it.

--Volunteers will read the names from the War Toll Calender for 2007.

Join us and bring your friends.

Please print out the attached flyer and distribute as you can to encourage vigil attendance.

Thank you--Los Altos Voices for Peace
