To LAVP Members and Friends,

The President is about to announce his plan to send even more troops into
Iraq, even though we just elected a new Congress to help get us out of
there.

We have to make it clear that Americans do NOT want more troops in Iraq and
we have to act fast!

There will be local protests across the country on Thursday, following the
President's speech tonight, and LAVP has signed up to host one.

Will you come, too? Hopefully one of the 3 local events below will fit your
schedule.

Please sign up on the website above to show other locals that a group will
be gathering. You can also download signs

THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2007-all on El Camino Real

* Noon-1 pm. El Camino and San Antonio (Los Altos/Mountain View).
Sponsored by Raging Grannies.

Raging Grannies Say NO!

Raging Grannies have invited the press to see our street theater at this
well traversed intersection, and YOU can be part of the action.

Stand quietly with a sign (we'll provide materials or bring your own sign)
OR join in the chorus of easy to sing-along anti-war songs...all sung to
familiar tunes.

We provide lyric sheets. Guaranteed to be a lively & press-worthy action!

* 4:30-6:30 pm. El Camino and Embarcadero (Palo Alto). Sponsored by
Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.

* 6:00-7:00 pm. El Camino and Castro (Mountain View). Sponsored by
Mountain View Voices for Peace, joined by Los Altos Voices For Peace.

Wear warm clothes, bring candles and signs.
