IRAQ TODAY: A PERSONAL, CLOSE-UP VIEW


LAVP Members and Friends,
 
Just a reminder of a timely Los Altos Voices for Peace event on Wednesday, November 28, at the Los Altos Public Library (7 p.m., in the Program Room--see flyer for location).  Emad Yahya will make a presentation titled, "Iraq: The War, the People, and the Future."  

Emad Yahya is an Iraqi-American who recently traveled to the Mideast.  His observations are timely and relevant. He has previously presented at an LAVP-sponsored vigil and at a recent LAVP planning meeting.
 
Yahya has been President of the Arab-American Cultural Center (AACC) of Silicon Valley  since 2006.   He was born in California in 1965 to an Iraqi father and American mother.  He was raised and went to school in Iraq , and today continues to have family living in Baghdad and Mosul , Iraq.  
 
Light refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. prior to his presentation.  His remarks will be informative and provocative.  A question and answer session will follow.
